Andrew was really into pumpkins this year! He loved picking out the different shapes and colors for the front porch.

Our church had a family picnic at a local pumpkin farm. We took a hayride to the pumpkin fields to pick a pumpkin.

Andrew just wanted to run through the field instead of actually picking a pumpkin. We eventually found one he liked!

Because it is time for all of the Fall Festivals and the East Texas Fair, Andrew's preschool had a Toddler Fair. Lot's of games, crafts, and they could bring their own "stuffed animal" for the animal livestock show. Of course, Andrew brought a cow!

I can't believe he is 2!!! Andrew has been very into farm animals, especially cows, and tractors since we moved to Tyler. He told me he wanted a cow party for his birthday. It was really fun to plan, more cow ideas out there than I ever thought!

My dad has a John Deere tractor, Andrew is in love with it. So, he got his very own!

He shared cookies with his class at school for his birthday.

Andrew wanted to eat dinner at Coyote Sam's, they have wild game mounted all over the walls, one of his favorite places. Then he wanted yogurt at TCBY.

I had been dreading this day for months, I knew Andrew would have a great time at preschool, but I was not ready. It didn't seem like he should be old enough for this! It's all worked out just fine and he's adjusted and loves his teacher Ms. Teresa and all of his friends. I'm so thankful he is having such a good time!

We had a fun 4th of July! My parents neighborhood had a parade complete with the fire department and their fire trucks!

We decorated Andrew's wagon for the parade.

We had a party at the house. The kids had a ton of fun!

At the end of May, we found out some exciting news, it's on Andrew's shirt. He was going to be a big brother. However, I started having some issues and at 8 weeks, we found out that our baby did not make it past 4 weeks and I had a miscarriage. I look forward to holding that baby in heaven some day and being able to put this shirt on Andrew again.

The whole Davis family went to the Tyler Zoo recently! Tom's oldest sister and her family have been visiting from Colorado for almost a month. It has been so fun to see our nieces and for Andrew to get to be around them. They have a blast together!

The "C" Word

Tom's mom, Sarah, was diagnosed at the beginning of this month with breast cancer. She found a rather large lump, it was the size of a half dollar/small lemon! She had a lumpectomy and the type of cancer is very aggressive. She will be starting chemotherapy and radiation soon. Please pray that this cancer will not spread through her body and that the chemotherapy and radiation will take care of any other cancer cells. She is also diabetic, so please pray that her treatment will not cause problems with her sugar levels.

Easter was really fun this year with us being closer to our families. Andrew was also at a good age to have fun with Easter Egg hunting. We have also joined my hometown church that I grew up in. It has been so nice to go back and be apart of a wonderful church!

My family always took our picture in the courtyard at church on Easter Sunday. I'm loving that we can continue that tradition!

I can't believe this little guy is 18 months old! He is so much fun, we can do a lot of activities because he is a good age. He was in the 95th percentile for height, probably going to be tall and lanky like my dad! Andrew can give high 5's, says animal sounds like cow, horse, and duck, says mama and daddy, and a slew of other words. He is such a sweetie, loves to give hugs to everyone.

It's Hard to Say Goodbye

We are moving to Tyler! As many of you know, Tom has been looking for another job for a while now. He accepted a financial advisor position with Hardy Wealth Management, Wells Fargo Advisors in Tyler. He is very excited about working with a new team!

But, then there's the part about us moving and leaving the place that Tom and I have been living for the last 9 years. We met here, our first child was born here, and we love our house. We are sad to leave so many of our friends.

Below are pictures from our last playdate with Andrew's friends Kaden and Nate. These boys have been friends before they could all crawl! It has been a blast getting to know their Mom's. Nate's Mom and I live across the street and it has been such a blessing having a neighbor going through the same stage of life you are. Kaden's mom lives very close and it has been wonderful to call her up last for last minute lunches at Chick-fil-a or having the boys play if there is a day they are driving us crazy. I'm going to miss them a lot!

We started a Gymboree Music Class this month. Andrew has really enjoyed going each week. It's great to have a class like this with it being so cold outside. One of his favorite things is when the teacher dumps all of the instruments out in the middle of the floor and lets them have a free for all! It's quite loud! :)

31 years, I never thought about being 31. It's amazing how time flys! My birthday is also on Valentines Day, so Andrew and I enjoyed my birthday cake and some fun activities! Tom took me to dinner at Sauce on the Square in downtown McKinney, one of my new favorite places! It was a great day!

We decided to let Andrew open his gifts from Santa before we drove to East Texas for Christmas. We didn't have room for his gifts and everything else. He had a blast with his new four wheeler and pirate water table. It was such a fun experience being a parent and having your child open Christmas gifts! We also read a short children's version of the Christmas story from the Bible, such a sweet moment.

With a new puppy and toddler, I didn't even attempt to decorate the tree. Hopefully next year!

We went to Tyler for the Afternoon with Santa at my parents' church. Andrew was not a fan of Santa, cried the entire time. I didn't even get a picture with Santa, it was so bad. He did have fun decorating cookies, making reindeer food, and an ornament. I think he had the most fun running around!

I love the Arboretum this time of year, they have such fun activities and a huge pumpkin patch and house, hay maze and petting zoo! I took Andrew last year when he was just one month old. Summer, Swimming, and More

We have been having fun this summer. Andrew went swimming for the first time in Longview. He just sat back and relaxed, he seems to like the water!

Happy 4th of July! Our neighbors invited us to their parents house. We had great BBQ and they did an amazing fireworks show. Andrew slept through all the fireworks, I was covering his ears, still I was shocked!

While in Tyler, I had lunch with my friend Sarah and her 2 precious girls.

We bought a baby pool for Andrew and have it on the back patio. I could barely keep Scout out of it!

We play a lot with our neighbor across the street. I babysat both of the boys last week. I'm glad I don't have twins!

A Goal, The Race, The Finish Line

After I had Andrew, I set a goal for myself to run the 5K Komen Race in Tyler on Mother's Day weekend. All of the sudden it was upon me, but Tom and I managed to train a few weeks prior and we ran the majority of it. Another goal of mine was to be a Mom, that reality came true last September and celebrating Mother's Day and actually being a "Mom" this year was truly amazing! Andrew turned 8 months old 2 weeks ago. I feel like he is flying through being a baby and I just want it to slow down! Tom jokes with me and says, "before you know it, he will be in college", ughhhhh I want to enjoy every minute!

Andrew turned 7 months old last week! He is definitely keeping us busy. Not crawling yet, but working on it. He has such a personality and is very busy, rarely takes a nap during the day, which makes for a tired mommy! He is wanting to grab for everything and now has 2 baby teeth. He does sleep well at night and has started a lot of solids. I tried making my own baby food and it has worked out so far. He likes everything except my carrots.

We found a field of bluebonnets in a cemetery in North Frisco, I know, random location, but there were tons of people there!

Andrew wasn't so sure about this, but we were able to get a few pictures.

We went to Tyler to see DeDe and Pops at the beginning of the week.

Andrew did not like the carrots I made and had more fun playing with his spoon.

Andrew likes to be read to, but lately, he would rather chew on the books because of his new teeth.

Here is Andrew at his first Texas Rangers Baseball game! Tom had some friends who came into town last Sunday, so we all went to the Ballpark. We were very proud of Andrew because he lasted about 6 innings. Snow Again

It snowed again at our house! I measured 4 inches in our front yard and it's still coming down. I decided to build a little snowman and Andrew seemed to enjoy it.

We have had a busy January so far. Andrew is now 4 months old. We went for his 4 month check up and is doing well, he weighs over 15 lbs. now! He is babbling and interacting so much more, it's tons of fun!

Andrew was baptized last Sunday in Tyler at Marvin United Methodist Church. Tom and I were married there, Tom's parents were married there, I grew up in that church, so we thought it would be special. As you can see from Andrew's face, he didn't like it very much. He cried the whole time the pastor held him and of course, when he came back to me, he stopped crying.

Andrew is really starting to push up on his hands when he's on his tummy. He even rolled over last Monday for the first time, but I can't catch him with the camera.

This is what we woke up to outside our front door, Snow!!! It was really heavy this morning, but has melted away already. They said we might have flurries, but no accumulation, they were wrong! We usually get snow once, but not this early. It was very nice to wake up to!

What a crazy past few weeks! We have had lots to celebrate. We have had people come visit us, Andrew turned 2 months old, Tom had his 29th birthday, and we celebrated out 5 year Anniversary! We also spent Thanksgiving in Tyler and Longview.

I'm a little behind on posting, sorry. We have been busy the last couple of weeks! We went to Tyler for Halloween because Tom went to Colorado, that was our first long distance trip in the car. It went well on the way there, but coming home was when Andrew cried the majority of the time. Scout would start whining in the back, then Andrew would start to cry. It was like they were taking turns. I needed ear plugs!!! I also started an online business called Pink Posey Designs, painting wall letters and canvas art for children's rooms. Andrew is one month old! Every day he is starting to interact more and smile. He is such a cutie! We went to the Dallas Arboretum yesterday, which made me feel like a true mommy. There were strollers, moms, and kids/babies galore! I fit right in. My neighbor, Lauren, went with us. It felt like a marathon trying to get out of the car, get the stroller out, make sure you have everything, etc. I'm glad I had an extra pair of hands. How people do it with 2 kids, I don't know! Anyway, we had fun taking Andrew's picture in the pumpkins. They had so many fun activities to do with kids, it will be a blast when he is older.

Not sure what to think about laying on pumpkins! Andrew wore a pumpkin costume that his cousin Sarah had when she was a baby.

Forgive me father, for I have sinned! No, just kidding. Tom wanted Andrew to wear his UT outfit for the Texas/OU game this past weekend. As an A&M grad, this was a little hard to stomach, so Tom did the honors of putting it on him.

Andrew Week 3

Sorry it's taken me forever to add pictures! Here are pictures from Andrew's 3rd week. We are getting adjusted to being on our own. We were so lucky to have parents here with us the first 2 weeks. Last week was our first week by ourselves and we survived. Andrew is starting to fill out more and trys to coo and talk a little bit. We have been learning how to deal with his fussiness, the Happiest Baby on the Block techniques are working well, thankfully! Tom took care of Andrew while I got out and went to Target last Sunday. Andrew really initiated Tom into being a Daddy. He cried the whole time while I was gone and just before I got back, he pooped all over the changing table during his 3rd diaper change in 45 minutes! The joys of parenthood! Enjoy the pictures, more to come on Friday when Andrew will be a month old!!!

2 Weeks Old!!!

Wow, 2 weeks have flown by! Andrew went to the doctor yesterday and the jaundice is gone, thankfully! He also gained 4.5 ounces, which was something we wanted to happen since he lost 14 ounces after he was born. We hope he will get back to birth weight soon. He is doing very well, kind of starting to sleep 4-5 hours at a time during the night! We are not going out and about very much, so we would love to have visitors any time! Here are some pictures from our 2nd week.

One Week Old!!!

It has been an amazing week! I cannot believe that Andrew is one week old. I was rocking him yesterday morning and I looked at the clock and it was close to 7:57am, when he was born. I started crying joyful tears because I realized he has been with us for a whole week! He is a wonderful baby! Everyone was right, it goes by so fast and it makes me sad because I want to enjoy each and every minute. Andrew's jaundice has gone away and he is a good sleeper. We do not like having our clothes changed or our diaper changed, other than that, he is very content to be held. We are so lucky to have a wonderful support system. We could not do this without our family! I'm finally getting the hang of multi-tasking with a baby in my arms and I can post pictures more often. Enjoy!

Andrew is finally here!!! Andrew was born on Wednesday, September 16th, weighing 7 lbs. 14oz. He is a wonderful gift to us and perfectly healthy. We came home from the hospital yesterday. He has had a little jaundice, but we went to the doctor today and he has a bed he lays in to help get rid of the jaundice. It looks like a mini tanning bed! We are so in love with him! Tom and I are getting in the routine of having a newborn, so we will post more pictures soon.

No Baby Yet

Well, Andrew is still comfortable where he's at for the moment. Every Braxton Hicks contraction I have, I get so excited thinking, maybe it's the real thing. Then, I never have another contraction, so it's a crazy feeling! I went walking today in the grocery store and Super Target thinking that would help some. It's been raining almost non-stop here in the Dallas area, so I can't really go on a good walk outside. I feel like I've done everything possible to prepare for going to the hospital, family to stay at our house, visitors, etc. I'm sure there's something I'm forgetting and I don't think you're ever truly prepared to be a parent. Most of you know, I think on some things that ignorance is bliss in certain situations! I actually have a funny story though, I finally gave in and went with Tom to dove hunt. On the way there, we turned down a road that we thought would be a short cut. It was a gravel road and we were in his Ford Fusion, not exactly what you want to be in! We kept going because we thought we were almost there. It was the bumpiest road I think I've ever been on. It reminded me of a story of how men supposedly would drive their pregnant wives down bumpy roads to induce labor! It obviously doesn't work, but we were dying laughing about it!

1 Week to Go!!!

Well, we are counting down the days until next Thursday! That's not to say that Andrew will definitely come on that day, but I hope somewhere around it. Last week, I was dilated 1 centimeter and today, I'm still only dilated 1 centimeter!!! I know babies have a mind of their own as to when they want to come. It started raining here a few minutes ago and I keep thinking, maybe the pressure/weather change will cause something to happen. I looked at the moon phases last weekend because it was a full moon, I hear that more babies are born during a full moon, but of course nothing happened with that either! My next appointment is Thursday, the actual due date. If nothing has happened by then, my doctor said we would talk about an induction date. I really don't want it to come to that, so we will see what happens. Thanks for all of your thoughts and prayers as Tom and I head toward parenthood!

The Great Elk Hunt!

Well, there is no Baby Andrew yet, but we have a huge 380" bull Elk that will be coming to the Davis residence and going up on the wall soon. Tom traveled to Idaho last week and fulfilled his goal of taking an elk with a bow. He donated 250lbs. of meat to Hunters for the Hungry in Idaho, which provides meals for the homeless. We have 150lbs. of Elk meat at our house, so please, call us if you want to come over for dinner, PLEASE!!! I've never eaten Elk before, but it is supposed to be wonderful!

As for updates on the baby, I've gone to the doctor twice in the last two weeks and there have been no changes, no dilation, but Andrew is still growing and has a great heartbeat! I'm starting to experience some slight swelling in my hands and my fingers are numb on my right side. If you haven't received a thank you note from me, that's why, it's hard to write when your fingers are numb. I know I'm getting close to the end, only 2 weeks, hopefully!

Here is the video of Andrew from the 3D ultrasound we went to last Friday. I'm so thankful that they finally burned it on to the DVD correctly! Can't believe he is going to be here in a month and a half!

3D Ultrasound update

The ultrasound was wonderful to see! He has grown so much! We were a little disappointed because they did most of it in 2D and were expecting 3D/4D. She did switch it over to 3D for a couple of parts. We got to see his precious face in 3D and he is so cute! We are 100% sure that he is a boy, for some reason she did that part in 3D too! They burned me a CD of what they looked at, but when I got the CD home, they didn't put things on there correctly and the CD was empty. I called them and they are going to burn a new DVD next week. I'm really praying that they get it right the second time! I'll post a photo next week. Some of you know that I was a little worried that they might find something wrong, I've become such a worrier. Thanks for your words of encouragement!

3D Ultrasound!

I went to the doctor on Monday for my latest OB appointment. My mom came with me to hear the heartbeat. I tried talking my doctor into an ultrasound since my mom was there and we haven't seen anything since week 20 when we found out we were having a boy. She told me that she couldn't do an ultrasound then, but that she needed a "guinea pig" for a 3D ultrasound machine that their practice is thinking about buying and their rep is coming Friday to demo it for them. Of course, I said I would do this! I'm very excited to see a more in depth picture of our little boy because this is something that Tom and I were not going to do otherwise. I just ask that you would pray for a healthy little Andrew that we see in there tomorrow. They are supposed to give us a picture or something, so I will post it tomorrow.

I know it has been forever since I have updated this! Over the last month we have picked a name out for our sweet baby boy, Andrew Thomas. I have "retired" from teaching Kindergarten for Plano ISD for the past 6 years, and we have started decorating Andrew's room. We have also had 2 baby showers, one from my coworkers and another from my wonderful class this year. Here are some pictures of everything!

BOY!!!! We are so excited that we are going to have a son! I thought Tom was going to do backflips at the doctor's office. All of the organs, etc. looked great. We got to see him do a rollover and move his legs and arms. For a first time parent, that is an amazing sight and thank God for all of it! We will let you know about a name soon!

April 17th is the day we find out if Baby Davis is a boy or a girl! I went for another OB appointment today and the baby still has a great heartbeat. I absolutely cannot wait!!

Welcome!!

I have finally decided to create a blog site for our family since we are going to have a new addition in September. Also, my sister in law Jessica gave me an ultimatum and said I had to either do facebook or a blog, so I chose the blog. I can't promise a lot of great things to read and look at right now, but I know there will be lots more to come in September!
