Early Christmas

We decided to let Andrew open his gifts from Santa before we drove to East Texas for Christmas. We didn't have room for his gifts and everything else. He had a blast with his new four wheeler and pirate water table. It was such a fun experience being a parent and having your child open Christmas gifts! We also read a short children's version of the Christmas story from the Bible, such a sweet moment.

With a new puppy and toddler, I didn't even attempt to decorate the tree. Hopefully next year!

Andrew got a music set with drums, tambourine, marachas, he loves it!

Andrew drives everywhere on this, he's so cute!

Afternoon with Santa

We went to Tyler for the Afternoon with Santa at my parents' church. Andrew was not a fan of Santa, cried the entire time. I didn't even get a picture with Santa, it was so bad. He did have fun decorating cookies, making reindeer food, and an ornament. I think he had the most fun running around!

First Haircut

Andrew did so well for his first haircut! He fell asleep in the car on our drive there, so he was kind of out of it and sat in my lap the whole time. I probably let his hair go a little too long, but I loved his curls!

Our New Family Member

Meet Dutch, our new yellow lab puppy. He's very cute and sweet, Andrew loves him! We named him from the movie Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Michael Douglas calls Matthew McConaghey "Dutch" in the movie. We thought it would be a good name!

Halloween

Halloween was so fun this year! We loaded our happy little lion in our wagon with our neighbor across the street and strolled all through our subdivision. One of the things I love about where we live, is that there are lots of young families. So, it was like one big party walking around!

Such a cutie!

Dallas Arboretum

We went to the Arboretum with our neighbors for Mommy and Me Monday. I love the Arboretum this time of year, they have such fun activities and a huge pumpkin patch and house, hay maze and petting zoo! I took Andrew last year when he was just one month old. I can't believe he's old enough to enjoy the activities!

Caldwell Zoo

We went to Tyler for the weekend and decided to take Andrew to the Caldwell Zoo. He had a good time, mostly riding in the stroller.

In front of the South Africa exhibit, if only the animals were closer!

Andrew wasn't too excited about the aquarium.

The leopards were beautiful!

He did enjoy the penguins.

It was a good time!

First Birthday Party

I love the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. I would read it to my class every year when I taught kindergarten and I thought how appropriate for a first birthday party! That was our theme for Andrew's birthday.

We had all of the foods the very hungry caterpillar ate in the book.

Birthday cake from the Butcher Shop in Longview. Grandmother and Granddaddy were so nice to bring it to our house!

Andrew's friends Gracie, Caroline, Kaden, and Nate came to the party

Opening gifts

What a fun day!!!
